Commission approves EUR 32.5 million Irish state aid scheme to support agricultural producers amid Ukraine war

Today, the European Commission (Commission) has approved a EUR 32.5 million Irish State aid scheme to support tillage and horticulture producers facing financial difficulties due to the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine. The aid is granted under the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF).

The scheme provides direct grants of up to EUR 280,000 per beneficiary and targets producers at risk of financial liquidity loss. Aid will be allocated by 31 December 2024. The Commission therefore concluded that the measure is in line with the conditions set out in the TCTF and Article 107(3)(b) TFEU.

The non-confidential version of the decision will be made available under the case number SA.116765 in the State aid register.
