CISAF: EUR 380 million scheme to support cleantech manufacturing in France

The measure aims to accelerate the transition towards a net-zero economy by supporting investments in the production of net-zero technologies, their key components, and related critical raw materials. The scheme will be open to all companies carrying out eligible investments and will provide support in the form of direct grants and repayable advances financed by both the French State and regional authorities, with co-financing from EU structural funds. Aid may be granted until 31 December 2030.

The Commission assessed the measure under the  Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF) and concluded that it incentivises investment in strategic clean technologies and critical raw materials necessary for the implementation of the Clean Industrial Deal. The Commission further considered the measure necessary and appropriate to facilitate the development of economic activities linked to the green transition, while remaining proportionate and limited to the minimum necessary.
