Commission approves additional EUR 212 million French State aid for agricultural and aquaculture companies facing increased fuel prices
The French scheme supports agricultural and aquaculture companies affected by increased non-road diesel fuel prices. The amendment doubles the scheme’s budget from EUR 212 million to EUR 424 million and extends the eligible period for fuel expenses from May–August 2026 to September–December 2026. The original scheme had been approved in June 2026 (see our PR).
The Commission assessed the schemes under Article 107(3)(c) TFEU and Sections 1 and 2.1 of the Middle East Crisis Temporary State Aid Framework (METSAF). It found that the schemes are necessary, appropriate and proportionate and do not adversely affect trading conditions to an extent contrary to the common interest.
The non-confidential decisions will be published under case numbers SA.124997 in the State aid register.
