Commission approves EUR 20 million State aid for agricultural, fishing and aquaculture companies facing increased fuel and fertiliser prices in Friuli Venezia Giulia region (Italy)

The scheme was approved under the Middle East Crisis Temporary State Aid Framework (METSAF), will take the form of direct grants and subsidised loans and will run until the 31st of December 2026.

The amount of the aid will be determined based on the size of land used for the primary production of agricultural products, and on the basis of estimates of fuel consumption in the primary production of fishery and aquaculture products. The maximum amount per beneficiary is EUR 50,000. The aid is paid by the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The Commission assessed the scheme under Article 107(3)(c) TFEU and Sections 1 and 2.1 of the METSAF, and found that it is necessary, appropriate and proportionate.

The decision will be made available under the case number SA.123315 in the State aid register
