Commission approves EUR 37 million State aid for gaming industry centre in Croatia

The measure will support the construction of a new industry centre for the gaming sector in Novska, Sisak-Moslavina County, in Croatia. The project will fund two facilities (a business incubator and accelerator) offering workspaces, conference rooms, game testing areas, and tailored business support services for start-ups and SMEs in the gaming industry.

The measure is financed in part through the Just Transition Fund and aims to support economic diversification in a region transitioning away from traditional heavy industries, with a focus on ICT and gaming. The Commission assessed the aid under Article 107(3)(c) TFEU and concluded that it is necessary, appropriate, and proportionate, with limited effects on competition and trade within the EU.
