Commission’s decision to open in-depth investigation into Polish regional aid for MAN Trucks factory expansion published
The Commission launched this in‑depth investigation on 29 July 2025 (see our PR) to assess whether approximately EUR 26 million in investment aid granted by Poland to MAN Trucks Sp. z o.o. for expanding the capacity of its factory in Niepołomice complied with EU State aid rules.
The aid package consists of a direct grant of about EUR 2.4 million and a corporate income tax exemption of about EUR 23.7 million. At this stage, the Commission acknowledges that the investment could contribute to economic development in a disadvantaged region but has expressed doubts regarding its compliance with the Regional State Aid Guidelines.
The publication in the OJ of the opening of the investigation allows Poland, MAN Trucks, and interested third parties to submit comments within one month. Clayton & Segura can help you to prepare and submit your comments.
