Commission approves EUR 2 billion budget increase for Czech green district heating State aid scheme
The Commission has approved an amendment to the Czech scheme supporting the development of greener and more efficient district heating systems, primarily powered by renewable energy. Originally approved on 16 December 2022, the scheme’s budget has now been increased by EUR 2 billion, raising the total to EUR 3.2 billion.
The Commission assessed the amended scheme under the 2022 Guidelines on State aid for climate, environmental protection and energy (‘CEEAG’), concluding it continues to be in line with the conditions set out therein since all other conditions of the original scheme remain unchanged.
