Commission approves increased support for the construction of a multifunctional complex in Vilnius
The aid is linked to a previously approved EUR 146 million grant for building a multifunctional complex in Vilnius. Due to rising construction costs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s war in Ukraine, the project required additional support to remain viable. The aid will also fund additional stadium, and sports facility works needed to enhance the complex’s functionality.
The Commission approved the additional Lithuanian aid under Article 107(3)(c) TFEU, finding it necessary and appropriate to support sports and cultural development in Vilnius.
