CISAF: Commission approves EUR 1.5 billion Italian State aid scheme for cleantech manufacturing capacity
The Commission has approved a EUR 1.5 billion Italian State aid scheme to support strategic investments that expand clean technology manufacturing capacity, contributing to the EU’s Clean Industrial Deal and the transition to a net-zero economy. The scheme is co-financed through the Recovery and Resilience Fund and will support the production of net-zero technologies and their key components across Italy through grants, subsidised loans, or a combination of both.
The Commission approved the measure under the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF) (particularly section 6.1), finding it necessary, proportionate and appropriate to accelerate the transition towards a net-zero economy and facilitate the development of certain economic activities.
