EUR 192 Million Polish State Aid for New Gaming and Tech Hub greenlighted
The Commission has approved a EUR 192 million support for building a gaming and technology hub in Katowice, Silesia. Funded partly by the Just Transition Fund, the 32-month project involves transforming a former coal mine into a multifunctional facility focused on the gaming industry, with the aid provided as a direct grant.
The Commission approved the aid under Article 107(3)(c) TFEU, finding it necessary, appropriate, and proportionate to support the Gaming and Technology Hub. The project is expected to deliver significant socio-economic benefits for the development of the gaming and creative industries and the Katowice just transition area.
