Greenlights to the Amendment of R&D Aid Scheme for News and Current Affairs Media
The EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) has approved an amendment to Norway’s innovation and development scheme for news and current affairs media, now expanding it to include niche media. The scheme supports the creation and distribution of editorial content, aiming to enhance public access and engagement, including among specific interest groups.
Originally approved in 2018 and extended in 2022, Norway’s innovation and development scheme for news media has now been further amended to ease eligibility criteria, enabling more niche media outlets to access support. The scheme’s annual budget remains capped at NOK 30 million (EUR 2.6 million).
