IPCEI Design Support Hub launched and a potential IPCEI on innovative nuclear technologies announced

At a high-level meeting of the Joint European Forum on Important Projects of Common European Interest (JEF-IPCEI), the Commission announced the launch of a Design Support Hub for Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI), within which it will collaborate with Member States in shaping and developing endorsed IPCEI candidates.

The Hub will enable Member States to directly designate project candidates in accordance with IPCEI rules, helping to streamline and speed up the process.

Moreover, the Forum endorsed the start of the design phase for a new potential IPCEI project focused on innovative nuclear technologies. Interested Member States will define its scope and framework with assistance from the newly established IPCEI Design Support Hub.

The forum also explored ways to simplify and accelerate the IPCEI process, align IPCEIs with the goals of the Clean Industrial Deal, and enable potential EU co-financing for these projects.
