TCTF: Commission approves EUR 300 million Greek State aid scheme to promote sustainable biofuels and renewable transport fuels

In order to foster the transition to a net-zero economy, the Commission has approved a EUR 300 million Greek aid scheme to support the production of sustainable biofuels and renewable liquid transport fuels of non-biological origin.

The scheme aims to accelerate investments in the production of biofuels and renewable fuels of non-biological origin to advance the clean energy transition and reduce dependence on Russian fossil fuels. The aid is given in the form of direct grants and is accessible to all sectors except the financial sector.

The Commission approved the scheme under the State aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF) considering it necessary, appropriate and proportionate to accelerate the green transition and in line with the conditions set out in the TCTF.
